Pike County offers three types of Health and Rehabilitation services. Amber
Manor opened their doors in 1990 offering jobs for 75 and 64 beds with private
and semi-private rooms.
Petersburg Healthcare opened in 1968 with 122 beds.
Both offer physical, speech, respiratory and occupational therapy. Petersburg Healthcare offers out-patient services and they are an Eden Alternative Home. This means that there are pets sharing a loving living environment with the residents. A new Alzheimer's Unit was opened in 2001. American Nursing Care offers Home Healthcare. Home care represents the best tradition in American health care by allowing a maximum amount of freedom along with personalized care.
There are also two senior housing services in the county. Brookfield Apartments, located in Petersburg, and Otwell Senior Housing, located in Otwell, both offer 24 on site attendants.
There are five doctors, three dentists, two optometrists, three nurse practitioners and one chiropractor serving Pike County. The County Health Office offers home calls and immunizations and the school corporation has five full time nurses on duty at the schools while they are in session.
